Florida State added a major playmaker to its 2022 recruiting class as four-star athlete Azareyeh Thomas committed to the Seminoles live on CBS Sports HQ. Thomas — a product of Niceville High School in Florida — committed to Florida State over Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU and Oklahoma. 

Thomas’ addition pushes Florida State up to No. 15 in the 2022 team recruiting rankings, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. With the potential to play on either side of the ball, Thomas slots as the No. 2 player in the ‘Noles’ recruiting class as a legitimate top-100 recruit out of Florida. 

Described as a “do-it-all utility man on Friday nights” for Niceville High School, Thomas ranks as the No. 93 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the 2022 recruiting class. Wide receiver, cornerback, safety and special teams work could all be in Thomas’ future, given the athleticism that allowed him to not only star in football but also play basketball and participate in the long jump for track and field. 

247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins writes that Thomas has an NFL Draft future with a player comp to former Alabama and current Dallas Cowboys defensive back Trevon Diggs.
