When the NCAA opted to grant every college football player on 2020 rosters an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it completely rewrote the pathway to the 2022 NFL Draft. Now, players from recruiting classes ranging from 2015-19 can all declare for the draft at once despite having eligibility remaining.
With the season now in the books and only the national championship remaining, we are tracking every college football prospect technically listed as an underclassmen who has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Draft declarations are coming fast and furious not only from those designated as sophomores and juniors but seniors as well. This is because many of those seniors have the aforementioned remaining eligibility.
As such, the list below is exclusively filled to players who do not have “senior” or “graduate student” designations despite those players also heading to the draft with eligibility remaining. Why? Because there will be dozens players with those designations who do not publicly declare for the draft given they have completed their degree requirements and will simply be moving on as they normally would.
