Dobbs, 27, was selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Tennessee product spent two years in Pittsburgh before being traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who waived him ahead of the 2020 NFL season. The He rejoined the Steelers a day later.

Dobbs has appeared in six games during his NFL career – five in 2018 and one in 2020. He’s completed 10 of his 17 passes for 45 yards and one interception.

The Patriots’ current QB depth chart consists of Mac Jones, Brian Hoyer, and Jarrett Stidham.
