The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to plague the NFL. Since the start of last week, 213 players have tested positive for COVID-19, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. That’s almost 10% of the league.
Dozens of high-profile players have missed games this season after testing positive for the virus, and more players will undoubtedly miss time during the final three weeks of the 2021 regular season.
The latest could affect the postseason prospects of the Baltimore Ravens as backup quarterback Tyler Huntley has reportedly tested positive for COVID and will miss Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Meanwhile, the Chargers will have to make due without receiver Mike Williams, who was added to the list on Saturday. He joins running back Austin Ekeler, who will also miss Sunday’s game at Houston. And the Colts got some bad news before Saturday’s huge game against the Cardinals as All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard has tested positive and will miss at least two games.
