Florida added a versatile player as a late addition to its 2022 recruiting class as three-star athlete Arlis Boardingham committed to the Gators live Wednesday night, one week after National Signing Day, on CBS Sports HQ. Boardingham, a native of Van Nuys, California, committed to Florida over Oregon on CBS Sports HQ.

Boardingham looks to be the final member of an inspired transitional class from first-year coach Billy Napier at Florida. His addition pushes the Gators up to the nation’s No. 16 class, per the 247Sports Composite, and into the top half of the SEC.

Coming in at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Boardingham is a versatile playmaker who could slot at different spots on either side of the field. However, he will likely settle at either wide receiver or tight end.

247Sports experts rated Boardingham as a four-star recruit, while the industry standard 247Sports Composite lists him as a three-star prospect, the No. 488 player in the nation and No. 31 athlete in the class.

Boardingham becomes the 18th high school player to join Florida ahead of the 2022 season as Napier made significant strides in his transitional period, particularly during the early signing period.

The Gators will also welcome at least six transfers that are joining the program from either Power Five schools or Napier’s previous stop at Louisiana.
